The Ultimate 3 is a new challenge pioneered by me (Colin) and my wife (Ruth Flack). My aim is to cycle from Lands End to John o Groats via the Three Peaks of Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis. Also, kayaking the length of Lakes Bala, Windermere and Loch Ness on the way, and all within a three week period. A challenge that we do not think has been completed before.
Starting at Lands End on the 1st of October our challenge heads north via Bristol and the Severn Bridge up through the Welsh Marches to Lake Bala and then on to Mount Snowdon. From here it continues north, via Chester, Lancaster and Kendal to the southern end of Lake Windermere and then Scafell Pike. After this it’s on to Carlisle then Glasgow en route to Fort William. The Ascent of Ben Nevis is followed by the kayaking of Loch Ness. The final leg is from Inverness to John o Groats on 18th of October (detailed itinerary to follow).
We are hoping to raise at least £100k for the Railway Children charity, who help over 12000 “street kids” at home and abroad.
In Autumn 2012 we are hoping to launch the first ‘Ultimate 3 Challenge’ when we will be inviting teams and or individuals to take part in this new and exciting event.
